Volkswagen Vento heads to Middle East, African countries soon

India is gradually becoming an export hub of cars. Domestic as well as foreign car makers are producing their cars in India and are exporting them to other countries from here. Volkswagen has also decided to start exporting the Volkswagen Vento sedan from India to the Middle East and African countries that have become one of the prime destinations for the export of cars. Maruti India has tested African markets and so did Hyundai India and has been ultimately successful in selling their cars exported from India. The Maruti Ertiga has done exceptionally well in Indonesia whereas the Mahindra XUV 500 is also performing well in Australia.

The left hand drive version of Vento will be exported to these new destinations soon. It seems that the car maker is enthused with the success of Vento as it had surpassed the Honda City sedan sales in India. Besides, Vento is seen as an affordably sedan with German styling and a car that also promises safety along with comfort. Already, Volkswagen is exporting Vento to South Africa and there has been a decently well response there.

Meanwhile, another factor that is pushing car companies to export from India is the falling rupee value. As the rupee falls, the export get profitable and imports get costlier. And most of the car companies import a lot of components and thus in order balance, they push up exports when imports get costly. Also, there has been a reduced demand for cars in the Indian auto market due to the current economic conditions and the high petrol prices. VW is not the only car maker that has increased its exports as other car makers have also stepped up their exports in order to compensate the loss in import of components.
