Volkswagen Virtus Reaches Dealerships, Launch In June
Volkswagen India, the Indian subsidiary of the German carmaker Volkswagen, is all set to launch its new compact sedan Virtus in the Indian car market on June 9, 2022. The carmaker has despatched the compact sedan for preview, pre-bookings, and test drive across its 152 dealerships in the country. The upcoming vehicle is the second product by the German carmaker under its 2.0 project. Before this, the company had launched the compact SUV Taigun, developed on the MQB A0-IN platform.

Under the hood, it will receive two engine options, including a 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI engine. The former will generate the power of 113 bhp, and the torque of 178 Nm. It will be mated with a six-speed manual gearbox, along with an option of a six-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission system. The latter will generate the power of 148 hp and the torque of 250Nm. The transmission duties will include a seven-speed DSG system. After its launch in the Indian car market, it will receive tough competition from Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Skoda Slavia.
It will be available with six-colour options including Curcum Yello, Rising Blue Metallic, Reflex Silver, Wild Cherry Red, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Grey.
