Volkswagen’s authorized dealer dragged in consumer forum and fined with compensation amount of Rs. 10,000 for selling a used car
A Volkswagen Motor’s authorized dealer has been ordered by the consumer forum to pay sum of Rs. 10,000 as compensation amount to one of its customers (Shankar) for selling him a used Volkswagen Polo Diesel car. The New Delhi District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum found the car dealer ‘Bhasin Motors India Pvt Ltd’ guilty for inefficient service as they offered the buyer, Mr. Anil Shankar a used car in place of a new car. However, the amount the car dealer charged was for a new one. Mr. C. K Chaturvedi stated that the client has already cancelled the booking and for his complaint, the company has decided to compensate with Rs. 10,000. Anil Shankar, the customer paid full amount of the car and when he went to the showroom to get his new car, he was offered with a used Polo diesel, which was already 657 km run. However, there was no good reason from the dealer end that why how it happened. Moreover, the dealer was also not able to answer the forum regarding the offering of used car to customer Mr. Shankar.
