Volkswagen’s Lineup for Indian Auto Expo 2014

After Japanese car maker Nissan Motors, German car maker Volkswagen has also announced its lineup for upcoming Indian Auto Expo. It is reported that Volkswagen India, Indian arm of renowned car maker will display the fleet of new cars during the event rather than unveiling the facelift or new variants of its existing line up. The new vehicles that will be displayed by company during the show will be displayed to compete highly acclaimed SUV.s like Ford EcoSport, Renualt Duster , Nissan Terrano etc existing in Indian car market.
 
The first in the fleet of new vehicles that will be showcased during the event by Volkswagen will Taigun SUV. Developed on company’s PQ12 platform it was first displayed during Sao Paulo Motor Show two years back in 2012. The SUV is expected to be introduced in both petrol and diesel variant. The petrol variant is expected to be bestowed with 1.2 litre 4 cylinder TSI petrol engine and may be coated with six speed manual transmission system or DSG automatic transmission system, enforcing power to front wheels. The diesel variant is speculated to be equipped with 1.2 litre engine churning the power of 74 bhp.
 
The another member of the Volkswagen’s family which will make its first appearance among audiences during the show will be Tiguan SUV which will be introduced in 2.0 litre diesel engine and will compete with Toyota Fortuner, Renault Koleos etc existing in its segment. Moving ahead company will also display the all new Passat sedan energized with 1.4 litre TSI and 2.0 TDI diesel engines. Apart from this company will also showcase new Beetle and 2013 WRC winning at its stand.
