Volvo Launches New SUV XC40 In India
With an objective to compete with Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3 and BMW X1, Sweden based car maker Volvo has launched its new SUV XC40 in the Indian car market with the price tag of Rs. 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The new SUV is developed on company’s new design philosophy and therefore embellishes the features like Thor’s hammer headlamp followed by Christmas tree taillights. In short, the new XC40 carries most of its cues from XC90 and is offered with three colour options of crystal white, passion red and bursting white. The bookings of SUV have been already commenced by Volvo at the down payment of Rs. 5 lakh.

Under the hood, it is empowered with 2.0 litre four cylinder twin turbo D4 diesel engine that generates the power of 190 bhp and torque of 400Nm. The transmission duties are performed by eight-speed gearbox and Haldex AWD. It is offered with three driving modes namely, eco, comfort and dynamic. As the version of XC40 SUV launched in the Indian car market is the based on top spec R-Design, it is offered with a dual tone color option. Besides, this it also adorns the features like diamond cut alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, and hands-free operating tailgate.

Inside cabin also it sports dual tone interior developed by making use of black colored leather and lava orange faux wool. The standard features include leather seats and dashboard with piano black inserts. Other remarkable features offered inside the cabin are two zone climate control, 12.3 inch instrumentation cluster, 750W 13-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, and wireless mobile phone charging system. Additional features include nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with android auto and apple car play connectivity.

As far as safety features are concerned it is equipped with radar-based active safety features like steering assist, speed alert etc. Standard safety features include seven airbags, ABS, ESC, hill ascent, descent control, parking assist, traction control and many more.
