Volvo Plans to Make Indian Roads Safer for Driving
Recently Swedish car maker Volvo celebrated its 90th birthday in the International car market and successful existence of ten years in Indian car market. During this period of a decade despite of offering some incredible vehicles embellished with superior safety features the car maker did not succeed in impressing the Indian car enthusiasts going through the cut throat competition from German luxurious car makers namely BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. Last year the Swedish auto giant launched XC90 and S 90, this year it is going to launch the SUV XC 60 in India sometimes during the later months.

It would be interested to know that it was back in 1959 when the car maker invented three point seatbelt which in coming years for other car makers. Commenting on this Mr. Tom von Bonsdorff, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India said, that the cars manufactured by their group are recognized for the safety features embellished in them. Safety is the core value of their cars and on which they will not make any compromise. Mr. Bonsdorff also added that, "But to have safe road, you need to develop infrastructure and develop people's mentality. The 3-point safety belt invented by Volvo is still the most important feature. “According to him to understand the relevance of adopting safety features while driving a car the drivers should belt themselves with seat belts and should not sit with infants on front seat.

Appreciating the efforts adopted by Indian traffic authorities he said that they are doing an appreciating work to minimize the number of increasing road accidents. Explaining about the efforts made by Swedish car group he said that their group has always tried to literate people about the importance of safety. Revealing about the group’s future strategy Mr. Bonsdorff said, they are planning to explore their dealership throughout the country and also plans to assemble parts for its SUV XC 90 in Indian car market.
