Volvo To Re-Introduce Polestar Performance As An Electric Car
Sweden based car maker Volvo Motors has announced that its Polestar Performance will be re-launched an electronic car and will be the part of company’s transformation strategy. The Swedish car maker had acquired the Polestar Performance back in 2015 after both the groups had been working together since 1996. According to reports the car manufactured by Polestar will now not adorn the Volvo logo in future.

In its first generation the Polestar brand was launched to compete against M Series cars from German car maker BMW and AMG Series of cars from another German car maker Mercedes-Benz, but now in coming years the brand will emerge as the representative of Swedish car maker in electronic cars. According to the sources of company Senior Vice President Design at Volvo Mr. Thomas Ingenlath will be the new incumbent as the Chief Executive Officer at Polestar and will work with Mr. Jonathan Goodman who will act as Chief Operating Office of the group.
It is believed that the idea of introducing Polestar Performance as an electric is part of company’s strategy in which it had announced to sale one million electronic cars in global market till 2025. With this the car maker is also speculating to offer two hybrid cars of each car under its portfolio and the first to debut in this series would be launched by 2019.
The idea of launching electronic car is reported to be the part of company’s strategic sustainability program ‘omtanke’ referring to consideration or caring in Swedish language. Under this program the Swedish car will implement climate neutral operations by 2015, equip Volvo cars by contemporary safety measures so that nobody gets injured in new cars manufactured by the company by 2020, and also to offer 35% position in top management to women by 2020.
