Volvo V40 unrevealed online, could be a significant move for the Volvo India

The upcoming ‘Volvo V40’ five-door hatchback has heated-up the market with its officially leaked images, will debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2012. According to the official sources, the new Volvo V40 will replace the currently available two models: Volvo S40 and Volvo V50 station wagon.

The Managing Director of Volvo, Mr. Tomas Emberg has addressed to media that the company is planning to launch this compact car in early 2013, scheduled for the debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Moving ahead, Volvo has launched the first teaser images and preview (Motodziennik auto magazine) of the Volvo V40; when all the leading automakers are busy to unrevealed their new models.

The all new Volvo V40 will be a compact version of the Volvo S60 that will be graced with hexagonal grille, flowing rear lines, rising belt line, swept back headlamps and various other designing features. This premium hatchback will be based on the latest Scalable platform architecture that makes it more appealing and marks a distinction.

The upcoming sporty Volvo V40 will come powered with the company’s new range of modular 2 litre, four cylinder Volvo Environmental Architecture (VEA) engines. It will share various features with the Volvo S40 and the crossover size X1. Volvo V40 will be imported as the CBU (Complete Built-up Unit) after its launch in Indian market.

This premium compact car will be costlier then, the recently launched BMW Mini Cooper and upcoming BMW B Class. The Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series will be the strong contenders of the Volvo V40.
