Why Is Tesla Interested In Indian Car Market For Electric Cars?
Despite of so many obstacles the endeavors of Elon Musk the founder of Tesla electric cars are really applaudable for negotiating with the government policies to step in Indian car market. According to recent reports Musk has initiated the talk with the Indian government to enter in Indian car market via single brand retail route under which he will have to purchase 30% of the raw material from the Indian manufacturers.

Although the government of India has made it made its policy of making India moving on electric vehicles by 2030, but still there is doubt of its success due to lack of infrastructural facilities. However recently Minister of Tansportatation Mr. Nitin Gadkari had warned the automakers working on hybrid cars for developing electronic cars. According to the Minister of Transportation the government is going to bulldoze its plan across the car market in India. Commenting on Mr. Gadkari’s statement, Mr. R.C. Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that there is doubt towards the success of electric cars in India due to absence of infrastructural facilities.
Going through all these arguments the interest of Musk for launching electric cars in Indian car market has become the question of suspense among the car enthusiasts. Interestingly the first reason which emerges at first instance responsible for this excessive interest is increasing competition in the segment. Recently James Dyson, the owner of bag less vacuum cleaner has said that his group is going to manufacture an electric car and planning to launch it by 2020. On the other side the NorthVolt AB, the company founded by one of the former executives of Tesla has started the production of lithium-ion-battery which would be sold to manufacturers of electric cars other than Tesla.
Therefore going through the determination of Indian government towards the introduction electric vehicles in Indian car market 2030, Musk feels that with growing competition in North American continent it would be easier for him to strengthen his footholds in Indian car market at the earliest.
