Go save fuel go for Wagon R CNG

Pros : mileage, space, service

Cons : plastic inside, engine rattling

Myself Yuvaraj Singh, I purchased the Maruti Wagon R LXI (CNG) six years back in the year 2006 when it was initially when CNG was launched in India. The looks were really sober and interior seat arrangement was perfect, at that time I had to chose between Hyundai Santro and Maruti Wagon R, my real uncle suggested me to go for a Maruti product as he has been using Maruti 800 since 1986 and was happy with the performance and service of company. Till now I have clocked above 80,000 kms. The mileage with dual option of fuel is good, I remember once I travelled from Mysore to Bengaluru, which is nearly 150+ kms in only under Rs 600 of CNG that was just really good. I have kept a sharp eye on the CNG consumption/mileage on the highways with 4 adults and round about 40 percent time AC on I was able to get nearly 15 kmpl, the cost calculates to near about under Rs 3.0, commendable.

I have read that Wagon R has bagged the I-MARK/Indian Design Mark award for its elegant design, which is a proud moment for owners of this car. There are some of the concerns about this car that I am facing from last 6-7 months of rattling sound heard from engine, and this happens ( in city driving ) the very next day of long trips, while I am off to office. Over years I have realized that door lining plastic (mainly the rear) is still not improved, which was my first underlining when I purchased this car, and saw similar issue when my neighbor brought it 3-4 months back.  The mode of petrol is pretty good but when it comes to CNG, one needs to slowly apply pressure on the accelerators.

Maruti Wagon R CNG variant mileage is high and it's a perfect car for a family because it's comfortable and interior space is big.

The company launched the refined model of this car, but I would wish to wait for the variant to be launched in 2012.

If my usage is 600Kms per month, should I o for Wagon R CNG or Petrol. I consider that the cost of petrol will consistently increase however running car on CNG at this runrate is advisable or not?
