In love with my first car- Wagon R

Pros : Mileage, Price, High ground clearance

Cons : Lack of vital safety features, Pickup

Mine is a 4 years old White Maruti Wagon R VXi. Quite obviously, I am driving this car for a long time now. I am quite happy that I chose this car as my first car.

What I like most about Wagon R and this particular variant is that it requires really negligible maintenance. Till date, I have clocked around 17000 kms and required nothing much then a regular oil change for my car.

The Wagon R is definitely a small, compact family car. I have not associated great expectations from it either. But fortunately, it works for me everywhere. My daily run in the city isn’t that long (hardly 10 kms) but I have driven it quite a few times on highways.  Though, it doesn’t drive like a sedan or a big car, it is pretty fine there as well. The mileage of the car is it’s another high point. On highway, I have recorded a whopping 20kmpl mileage once and in the city, it is still managing to give as much as 13-14kmpl.

I rate this car as one of the best in its segment also because it has a very high stance and enough space. I have never found the bumpy city roads a problem because Wagon R has such high ground clearance. Its 998 cc engine (K10B Petrol Engine) delivers really high power of 68PS at just 6200rpm.

On the whole, it is the perfect choice as the first car and I am a proud owner.
