New Mahindra Xylo features-stunning and XUV 500 inspired

Mahindra Xylo has over a period of time almost become the first choice of those who wish to go for a multi purpose vehicle in India beside Toyota Innova. But commensurate with the response Mahindra Xylo was getting Mahindra has forgotten to give it a facelift. Now that Mahindra has taken a great sense of Xylo by giving it a makeover, it seems that it will be able to get an increased response. If we talk of the new Mahindra Xylo features, these are really stunning. Mahindra has slated the new Mahindra Xylo launch on February 8.  

Soon after the new Xylo launch, it is expected that Mahindra will be introducing the Xylo Mini, which is the under four meter avatar of this big MPV. Recently and since reports started coming in that Xylo Mini is coming, a lot of people seem to have postponed their car buy and are desperately waiting for the Mini Xylo launch. However, before introducing the new avatar of the Xylo, Mahindra has thought it right to launch the new version of the Mahindra Xylo.  

A close look at the changes visible, the Mahindra Xylo seems to be inspired by Mahindra’s new SUV which is the cheetah inspired Mahindra XUV 500. The spy images floating on the internet suggest that the new Xylo has already gone into production and has reached many dealerships across the country. It will further help Mahindra cash on the popularity of the MPV by delivering it timely to the car buyers just after its launch on coming February 8.  

The new Mahindra Xylo features match to that of the Mahindra XUV 500 which according to Mahindra is a world class SUV. The 2012 Mahindra Xylo continues to have the same engine configuration which is the 2.2L mEagle diesel one. The engine produces 112bhp. The other diesel option available is the 2.2L DI model that has a maximum power of 95bhp. On the transmission part, the new Mahindra Xylo could feature a four wheel drive mechanism but it seems too uncertain as there is no official word from the Indian SUV maker. The 4x4 version could be christened as new Mahindra Xylo E9.

The front has received the greatest amount of effort by the homegrown SUV maker and car buyers will see an entirely rev up front of the new Mahindra Xylo. The front now looks more like the new XUV 500 and has a lot of similarity with it. On the inside as well, new Xylo get makeover interiors with new two tone interiors and plush seating besides the possible 4x4 lever or switch. The dash throws the same designing as the front exterior with three-spoke steering with audio controls besides other features.

The new Mahindra Xylo will be taking on the new Maruti Ertiga MPV which is soon to come out of the Maruti’s table. Besides this, Nissan Evalia launch is also scheduled in August this year. Toyota Innova is already there as the best selling MPV in India.
