April 2023 Is The Best Time To Buy Mahindra Thar 4X4
The Mahindra Thar, an SUV manufactured in India, is currently one of the top-selling vehicles from the domestic automaker. The company is currently offering an attractive discount on the Thar 4X4 version during April 2023. Buyers can enjoy a cash discount of up to Rs 40,000 on both petrol and diesel variants of the Thar 4WD, which comes in two trims - AX (O) and LX, and three powertrain options: a 1.5L diesel with a 6-speed manual gearbox and RWD, a 2.2L diesel with MT and AT gearboxes and only 4WD system, and a 2.0L petrol with both MT and AT transmissions and 4WD and RWD options.
The 1.5L diesel and 2.2L diesel engines generate a maximum power of 118bhp with 300Nm and 130bhp with 300Nm, respectively, while the gasoline unit delivers 152bhp with 300Nm. The Mahindra Thar 4X4 version is equipped with an electronic brake locking differential that provides improved grip on low-traction roads.Mahindra & Mahindra is reportedly planning to introduce a new entry-level 4X4 variant that will be positioned below the AX (O) trim. The vehicle is expected to be powered by either a 2.0L petrol or a 2.2L diesel engine and will have fewer features than the AX (O) trim. It will be a four-seater model with forward-facing seats.
In other news, Mahindra & Mahindra is currently testing a 5-door version of the Thar, which is set to debut by the end of 2023 or early 2024. The vehicle will have a 300mm longer wheelbase than the current Thar, with new body panels that might offer better stability with an increased wheelbase-to-track ratio. The 5-door Mahindra Thar will have more cabin space, particularly for second-row occupants, and may come equipped with an updated infotainment system, a sunglass holder, and a front centre armrest. It will be in direct competition with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which is scheduled to be released in May 2023.
