New Mahindra Thar with AC launched at a starting price of Rs 6.86 lakh
Mahindra Thar CRDe 4X4, the true rustic, rugged SUV is finally launched at a starting price of Rs 6.86 lakh. The Thar CRDe features air conditioning and immobilizer fitted to the engine as standard. Mainly the first choice of people in the rural areas where the Thar happily takes over the off roading well and seats many people as well. The CRDe 4x4 version has been specially aimed at the SUV enthusiasts who were eagerly waiting for this trim. With the air conditioning option as standard now, the Thar will add more comfort to off roading especially when the summer is on its onset. As per reports, the 4x4 version of Thar with air conditioning is around Rs 87,000 more than the standard non AC version. The direct injection engine powered Thar will continue to miss the air conditioning as the air conditioning will be offered only on the 4x4 CRDe model of Thar. Being big on power SUV that can take on any terrain, none of the other SUVs in India can match the performance and popularity. Besides, Mahindra Thar is also being supplied to the state police of many states alongside Mahindra Bolero. The CRDe 4x4 with AC version will also add comfort to policing if the government inducts this model in the fleet of police cars.

Out of all the models of Thar, the DI model is more popular in the rural areas and smaller towns as it is both affordable and matches the performance demands of the area. The Thar CRDe is more powerful than the DI and outputs 10 bhp of power with the help of the 2.5 L common rail engine. Along with 5 speed manual gearbox the performance gets new heights making the car a perfect SUV for real off roading.
