Audi closer to its target, bags 89 percent growth in Nov sales

It seems that the 89 percent sales growth the Audi has registered in November will take it to the top slot in the luxury car segment soon. The best selling Audi cars remains – Audi A4, Audi A6 sedans and the three SUV siblings – Audi Q3, Audi Q5 and the big daddy of SUVs Audi Q7. This much sales growth is a worry sign for both Mercedes and BMW. Audi sold over 805 units in the past month when almost all the car makers had a party time following the festive season buying and the marriage season that followed it. It is believed that over 89 percent growth is a thing that most of the car makers vie for and it is a sign that Audi India is on a track that will soon promote it to the top slot.  

In the same month last year, Audi sold around 425 units. Sensing the high growth this month, Audi has revised its sales target for this year to 8600 units from 8000 units. Out of this it has already sold 8072 units and it needs around 528 unit sales in December to achieve its target. Yet again, the entry level sedans Audi A4 and Audi A6 are the volume pullers along with the Q family SUVs.  

In order to further strengthen its brand and its presence in the market, the car maker will be opening new showrooms and will also be expanding its service network. In addition to this, it will be taking the capacity of its Aurangabad plant to 9000-12000 units annually which will suffice all domestic demand for Audi cars. Besides this, the car maker will also be producing 90 percent of its cars locally by next year and all these are in consonance to its target of becoming the number one luxury car maker in the country. Meanwhile, Audi could also announce a price rise by 5 percent this January.
