BMW Group targets two million vehicles sales for 2016
After attaining record breaking sales starts in year 2011, the German car maker, BMW is pretty sure about the fair sales results in current financial year. At the Annual Accounts Press Conference in Munich on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Board of Management, BMW AG, Norbert Reithofer stated that they are looking forward for better sales stats and pre-tax earnings in year 2012.

Reithofer further added that they are commencing the new year with a full order book and alluring line up introduction. He also commented that the BMW Group will initiate to grow rapidly in the luxury car segment and would expect to attain new sales marks for its BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce products. The sedan version of BMW 3 Series available worldwide from 11 Feb, 2012 is also expected to play key role in the growth of the company.

BMW is also expected to introduce other phenomenal machines in 2012 that includes its BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe by June and the face-lifted model of BMW 7 Series by July. Reithofer affirmed that they are aiming to sell more than two million vehicles worldwide by 2016 that is the major target prior to the 2020 sales plans.

BMW’s flagship car, the 7 Series has been consistently selling a decent numbers. It sold 68,774 units in 2011 in comparison to sales of 65,814 units in 2010 that marks growth of 4.5% sales in one year. Furthermore, BMW X1 marked growth of 26.4% with the sales of 126,429 units in 2011 compared to 99,990 units sales in 2010. In addition, BMW X3 almost doubled the sales figures in 2011 with the sale of 117,944 units compared to 46,004 units sales in 2010.
