BMW launches Mini Cooper diesel price starts at Rs 25.6 lakh

BMW has silently launched the locally produced model of the Mini Cooper D Countryman in India at a starting price of Rs 25.6 lakh. Now this new price has made this car a highly lucrative buy and being in the Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh segment means that the car has entered into the comparatively high volume segment. The BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A Class are yet to enter this segment and Mini’s entry in the new price band makes it a pioneer before the two big wigs enter. Also, this could reinstate the car maker to the first position as a low price will surely attract high sales.

This diesel variant is available in two trims - Mini Cooper D Countryman and Mini Cooper D Countryman High. The High model is the fully loaded avatar of this not so small SUV and has lot of features making it a best buy. These locally produced diesel cars are powered by 122PS diesel engine that has a peak torque capacity of 270 Nm. The Mini Cooper D Countryman High price in India is Rs 28.9 lakh. Notably, the car maker had commenced local production of these cars last month and has hurried their launch ahead of the launch of A Class by Mercedes on May 30. The car maker started importing the completely knocked down kits of this Mini SUV and then started assembling it locally in order to bring down the price of the car.

As per the sources information, the diesel Cooper D Countryman offers a mileage of 19.5 kmpl with 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 9.9 seconds. The petrol model Mini One Countryman is available at a price of Rs 23.5 lakh and the car maker offering it at highly affordable EMI of Rs 24,999 only.
