It is for the second time this year that the major carmakers have decided to hike the prices of their entire portfolio with effect from April 1, 2021. After the announcement of a price hike by the Indo-Japanese carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Nissan India has announced to increase the prices of Nissan and Datsun products from April. The price hike will depend upon the model and variant. Commenting on the decision to hike the prices the sources of the company said that with the regular increase in the cost of components it has become necessary to hike the prices.

It is reported that the price hike will also affect the recent launch of the company Magnite. It would be for the third time that the company will increase the price of Magnite after its launch back in December 2020. In the beginning, the company had launched the Magnite with an introductory price for a limited period, after its price was hiked by Rs 50,000. After which the company hiked the prices of turbo variants up to Rs. 30,000 at the beginning of March 2021. The proposed price hike from April 1, 2020, will be applicable on all the trims of Magnite.
