Compact sedan based on 2014 Figo in the pipeline!

Since last couple of months, the rumors in the market suggest that the 2014 Ford Figo hatchback will arrive in the Indian car bazaar by next year. This one will be manufactured at the new manufacturing plant of Ford India, located in Sanand, Gujarat. Now, the firm is working on a compact sedan that is based on the new Ford Figo. This sedan is likely to replace the aging Ford Fiesta Classic. If we look into the detail, coming up with a compact sedan based on a hatchback has become a trend these days. First Honda Motors came up with Honda Brio hatchback and after some time Honda Brio Amaze sedan was launched in Thailand. It seems like Ford is carrying the trend forward with the compact sedan that it is planning to launch.

If reports are to be believed, the new compact sedan from Ford will be a notch higher and better than Ford Fiesta Classic. Obviously technology will be improved along with few more alterations here and there. Talking about the new Ford Figo, it will be coming with the same engine options as present in the ongoing model. However, this might add on the extra engine options like 1-Litre EcoBoost turbo petrol mill, which would be seen in soon to be launched Ford EcoSport Crossover SUV. The pricing detail of 2014 ford Figo is not been revealed yet, but to keep its position stronger in the market, the price tag of the hatchback will be kept competitive.

For the time being, Ford India is concentrating on the launch of Ford EcoSport, which is due for a long time now. The company introduced this SUV at the Auto Expo last year. And since then it has been teasing the Indian fans. Hopefully, this one will come around very soon without any more delay.
