Export of 20% Mini-Vans by Nissan India
The reports from Chennai alleged that Japan’s Nissan Motor will be selling 20% of its mini-vans overseas which it is going to manufacture in a partnership with Ashok Leyland. This will put the Indian market in the centre of the world as an automobile soul.
Andy Palmer, the executive Vice-President of Nissan in an interview said that they would be producing around 55,000 units of mini-vans or the passenger-carrying vehicles by next year and the export of these cars would be around 20%.
He further added that as their partner Ashok Leyland Nissan Vehicles could not execute this task due to lack of their own factory premises, so their another joint venture, Renault-Nissan Automotive would be manufacturing these mini-vans.
This factory is situated in the periphery of Chennai at Oragadam. Palmer announced that in about 2 years of time, Ashok Leyland would be able to put up their factory so as to produce the mini-vans.
Palmer said that “Dost”, the 1.25 tonne cargo transporter, was the first materialization of the combined project with Ashok Leyland and it would have been impossible for the Japanese firm to produce the vans solely on the said price.
Ashok Leyland would sell “Dost” all the way through its individual set of connections.
Palmer stated that Nissan has conveyed its international data, eminent features and industrialized skills. He said that the Japanese and Indian squads have made an effort for the module foundation and many Japanese manufacturing procedures have been put into practice.
He declared that their local substance would also be elevated for the mini-vans, almost to 90%.
He said that this project of manufacturing mini-vans would be beneficial to 2 compartments-one for carrying cargo and secondly for commuters as well. He also added that they would be putting up 2 more projects in India-one for research and the other one for gear boxes and engines.
According to the Contract, these vehicles would be sold solely by Ashok Leyland through their personal set of connections. Recently, a 1.25 cargo carter moved out from the Housar Factory of Ashok Leyland in Tamil Nadu.
Palmer, the present Chairman of the Ashok Leyland Nissan Vehicles, held that regardless of the shattering tsunami in Japan, the present year would prove to be a kind of achievement.
He stated that already in the past year of 2010, they have achieved a sale record of 850,000 and in coming 2 years it is anticipated to be around a million units. They would along with their associate collaborators, turn out to be the leading producer of light commercial vehicles internationally.
Palmer alleged that for all forms, module equipment had nearly gone back to standard after the devastated earthquake and tsunami and they would attain the complete normalcy by October, 2011.
Some of the popular hatchback models in the Indian auto market are Chevrolet Beat Diesel, Toyota Etios Liva, Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo. Apart from these popular models, cars going to hit the Indian roads this year are Force One, Nissan Sunny, Maruti Cervo and Honda Brio.
