FGAIL and Fiat Chrysler join hands to launch nine models in India
Fiat Group Automobiles India Limited, the Indian arm of Italian auto maker Fiat and Fiat Chrysler an alliance of Italian and American auto company have joined hands to launch two new models in Indian auto market in next one year. Where at one side Chrysler will launch a new Jeep model in Indian market by the end of this year on the other side Fiat will launch its iconic Abarth in India sometimes during next year.
In the words of Mr. Nagesh Basavanhalli, Fiat Chrysler President and Managing Director said that the upcoming model of Jeep and Abarth will be a part of the forthcoming nine cars from Fiat which Fiat speculates to launch in India during next three years. It should be remembered that company has stopped the production of hatch Palio and import of Fiat 500 from quite some time. Mr. Basavanhalli also added that during next three years company intends to strengthen its position in hatchback, sedan and SUV segments of vehicles during coming three years. According to him apart from these two new launches other launches will include facelifts and upgrading of ongoing models.
The sources of company reported that earlier Fiat had enjoyed strong position in Indian market and now company wants to regain its same position in coming future.
