Fiat Avventura launched with starting price of Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom price)
Fiat Group Automobiles India today launched compact sports utility vehicle Avventura with price ranging from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 8.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The sub-4 meter vehicle would be available in both petrol and diesel powertrains. The petrol variants powered by a 1.4 litre engine are priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 7.05 while the diesel variants are priced between Rs 6.89 lakh and Rs 8.17 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
"The Avventura showcases Fiat's commitment to India to produce cars designed for India and manufactured for India," Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India Operations President and MDNagesh Basavanhalli told reporters here. The vehicle would be manufactured at the company's Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra and will be initially sold in the domestic market only. When asked about the response for the vehicle so far, Basavanhalli said, "We have already received around 15,000 enquires and 500 pre-launch bookings for the Avventura."
Italian-American auto major Fiat Chrysler plans to launch 12 models in India in the next five years and will start producing models from the Jeep brand in the country by 2015. In 2015, the group will introduce the much-awaited Wrangler and Grand Cherokee models from the Jeep brand and Abarth Punto. The Grand Cherokee and Abarth Punto will be locally produced, while Wrangler will be imported.
