Fiat offering heavy discounts on its cars
Italian automobile company Fiat has been struggling to make its mark in the Indian market. It is desperate to better its stand in the country, and in the bid of doing so, it is now offering buyers with heavy discounts on its cars, during the forthcoming festive season.
Rajeev Kapoor, Fiat India's Chief Executive, said that the the company is fulfilling its commitment with this campaign. He said that this campaign proves the emotions and key values the company has with the Indian market.
Fiat announced that the discounts on its cars would be offered for two months- September and October. The discount rates would be- Rs. 130,000 for Fiat Linea and Rs. 75,000 for Fiat Punto. The people who want to exchange their old Fiat cars with new ones, would be offered extra Rs. 20,000 discount on purchase.
Rajeev Kapoor said that this would make it easier for those who want to get their old Fiat cars exchanged with new ones. The scheme also offers roadside assistance for 50 months, and one year insurance at just Re. 1.
Recently, Fiat issued a statement saying that it would be launching no new models till 2013-2014, and it would look forward to establish Linea and Punto as brands.
Just a few days ago, Fiat announced that it would open exclusive dealerships across the country. This announcement was made after the Fiat and Tata alliance became sour, and Ratan Tata stated that the alliance wasn't working out well and it needed to be reanalyzed. Though, according to Fiat, it is not planning to part ways, and the new exclusive dealerships would be addition to its co-dealerships with Tata. The current target is set to 20 exclusive stores across the country.
