Finally next generation Honda City launched in Indian car market
Finally the wait of more than a month came to end on Tuesday 7, 2013, when Japanese auto giant launched its highly awaited generation next Honda City in Indian car market after unveiling the car on November 25, 2013. The main reason behind the craze of customers towards new Honda City apart from integration of new features was its launch in diesel variant which is launched for the first time in Indian car market. The price of standard model of Honda City has been priced Rs. 7.42 lakh whereas the top end model has been priced Rs. 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi, respectively). The new Honda City has been launched in five models namely E, S, V, SV and VX.
In the petrol variant company has carried the same existing 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine churning the power of 117 bhp at 6600 rpm and torque of 145 Nm aat 4600 rpm. It has been offered with two transmission options one with 5 speed manual transmission system and the other one with CVT automatic transmission system. The last top end variants have been bestowed with automatic transmission system. The diesel variant has been empowered with same 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine which exists in its sibling Amaze generating the power of 98.6 bhp at 3600 rpm and torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. It is claimed that diesel variant will be the most fuel efficient car in its segment delivering an average of 26 kmpl. The new Honda City is expected to present tough competition in front of Hyundai Verna Fluidic and Volkswagen Vento.
With an objective of leaving no stone unturned Honda has added various impressive features in generation next Honda City. It would be interested to know that all variants are bestowed with few standard features namely ABS+EBD, and driver airbag. Apart from this it has also integrated various other features depending upon the model, these features include rear parking camera following in built music system compatible with USB, AUX, FM, CD and MP3, it also supports connectivity with Bluetooth, 5 inch monitor, smart key, cruise control, pinch guard, sunroof, push button start and touchscreen panel for air conditioner.
