Ford Figo hits the 100 K mark on Indian roads
The Indian auto market has seen a constant decline in sales due to ever increasing fuel prices and hiking interest rates.
Among the entire crisis, Ford Figo, the most popular hatchback from Ford motors, has broken all its sales records and has hit the 100K mark .With an increase of 53 percent in sales, Ford India sold and exported about 60,000 cars in the year 2011, while just last year, it sold only 39,465 units in the same period.
Also, in this month of June, the company sold and exported 9,145 units, while last year in june it sold only 8,483 units.
Mr Michael Boneham the president and managing director of Ford India commented on this achievement of Ford Figo and said that there has been a healthy sales in the last 15 months and the company is very happy with the current sales trends.

Also, Ford Figo provides the buyer with a high fuel efficiency which is the major factor in boosting its sales. For similar reason, there is a huge demand of the diesel variant in the market.
The company will soon be expanding its plant capacity in Chennai to meet the rising demands.
The company will also be launching Ford Figo in 14 other countries namely Kenya, Bahrain, Malawi, Mexico, Madagascar, Mauritius, Angola, Bermuda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Iraq, Liberia, Tanzania and UAE.Currently, Ford Figo is being exported to Nepal and South Africa.Ford Motors is planning to launch Figo in 50 countries in the upcoming years.
Ford Figo also has begun its roadshow, Bharta Yatra, which was kicked off in Kolkata on June 29th where it will travel across India in 1000 different cities.
Some of the popular hatchback models in the Indian auto market are Toyota Etios Liva, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo. Apart from these popular models, cars going to hit the Indian roads this year are Chevrolet Beat Diesel, Maruti Cervo and New Ford Fiesta.
