Ford Figo (Ka) to debut in Brazil next month
American Car maker Ford is going to start delivery of its Ford Figo hatchback in Brazilian car market after completion of FIFA World Cup 2014 followed by Figo (Ka Concept) sedan. The Figo sedan concept was showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2014 and will be launched in Indian car market by the beginning of next year. Although the sedan Figo to be launched in Indian car market would sub four meter sedan. The Ford Figo Sedan (Ka concept) has been developed on Figo hatchback.
The Ford Figo will be launched in both petrol and diesel variants. The engine details of petrol version are yet to be revealed by company, but it is speculated that company might offer 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine in the petrol variant. It is also rumored that this engine might be offered in the top end variant of of Figo while the base variant is expected to be enriched with 1.2 litre petrol engine. The diesel variant would be equipped with 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine developing the power of 89bhp and torque of 204 Nm.
It would be interested to know that Concept Ka is developed by Brazilian experts of car maker who earlier had developed the Ford EcoSport and therefore it is speculated that it will also carry the same features as offered in EcoSport. Once the sedan is launched in Indian car market it will compete against existing sedan in sub four meter sedan like Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent etc. The sedan would be blessed with features like Aston Martin front grille, sleek headlamps on the exteriors. The rear portion would be equipped with tail lamps, bootlid spoiler etc.
