Ford India sales decline by 34.05 %
Year 2013 started on a bad note for Ford India with its sales declining by 34.05 per cent. Ford managed to sell just 7,115 units in January 2013, while in the same time last year Ford India sold 10,789 units. The domestic sales also saw a downward trend with 6,062 units sold in January registering 33.65 per cent loss as compared to 9,137 units sold in January 2012.

Ford India shipped 1,053 units in January while it sold 1,652 units in January 2012 posting a loss of 36.26 per cent. Vinay Piparsania, the Executive Director, Marketing Sales and Service commented that the current scenario in the automotive segment can be improved if the government of India rolls out regulatory policies that help in recouping the growth rate of the automotive segment. Shortening the wide gap between the petrol price and diesel price along with fall in the repo rate by RBI are some of the positive steps.
