Ford India sales improves 9.45% at 10,270 units in the last month
US based automaker in India; Ford Motors, on Saturday announced a sales boost of 9.45% in the month of September with 10,270 units based on the increased export.
According to Ford India, in September last year the multinational had sold about 9,383 units. The launch and pretty decent response to the all new Ford Fiesta and persisting hefty bookings for their hatchback Ford Figo are termed as the reasons for rise in the sales.
A drop of 6.9% to 7,801 units besides 8,380 units was recorded in the last month of third quarter last year in Ford’s nationwide country sales. On the other hand its foreign trade rose up to 2,469 units this year in September as compared to 1,003 units in the last month of third quarter last year.
Mr. Michael Boneham- President and Managing Director for Ford in India, stated that the festive season in the country is on the cards and Ford India has got so much to rejoice, adding onto it he said that the company was near to attain the landmark of 1,00,000 sales this year.
Ford made a sale of 90,612 units this year in the period between January-September besides 67,253 units in the same phase last year, an increase of 35%.
The President said that company is striving hard to clear the holdup with suppliers to produce more diesel cars in order to cut down the waiting time.
With an investment of Rs 4,000 crore; Ford India had currently started work on its subsequent production unit in the state of Gujrat.
