Ford India will increase the Figo export to 18 more countries
With the increasing demand of the hatchback Ford Figo, the Ford India is planning to export the vehicle to 18 more countries across the globe in 2012. The President and Managing Director of Ford India, Michael Boneham has said that the presently, company is exporting the Figo to the 32 countries and looking forward to increase upto 50 markets.
Company has the sharp-eye over the countries in North Africa, South America and the Caribbean islands to export the Figo. The growing Indian automotive industry is renowned for its low production cost and high quality manufacturing that becomes the hottest business destination for the auto brands.

Stepping ahead, Ford India is establishing the second manufacturing plant at Sanand Gujarat, will lead the company’s investment over two billion US dollars. The domestic and overseas market will be under the consideration of this new manufacturing unit.

Commenting over the proposed taxation on the diesel vehicles, Boneham said that the taxation on the diesel vehicles is entirely an inappropriate approach that will result in unnecessary sufferings and adversely affect the employment opportunities in the automotive industry. The auto industry body SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) has also declared that the taxation is not an appropriate approach.

Ford India has reported the growth of 15 percent for the previous year and targeting to make it upto 10 percent year-on-year, despite the odd market equations, inflammation and increasing fuel & interest rates. According to the reports, company’s Chennai plant is the production centre of the Ford Fiesta Classic (medium sedan), Ford Figo (hatchback), Ford Fiesta (premium sedan) and the SUV Ford Endeavour. Company is all prepared to launch the six new vehicles in the Indian market by the end of 2015.
