Ford to bring a compact sedan named as Figo Aspire
Finally Ford India the Indian arm of American car maker Ford has confirmed the launch of its new compact sedan Figo Aspire which would be an upgraded version of its Figo hatchback. This was revealed by company’s official at the inauguration of company’s next production unit at Sanand Gujarat. The first product to come out from this production unit would be generation next Figo hatchback followed by Aspire. It is speculated that Aspire would make its debut in Indian car market sometimes during the first half of this year. The hatchback and upcoming compact sedan are being already sold in Brazilian car market as KA and KA+.
The upcoming vehicle would be offered in both petrol and diesel trims. Although nothing has been so far revealed about the engine configurations but it is rumored that Indian version of these vehicles would be empowered with 1.2 litre Ti-VCT 4 Cylinder engine boosting the power between 80-85 bhp and torque of 120 Nm. The diesel version would be energized with 1.5 litrre DV5 turbo charged diesel engine. Both the engines would be offered with five speed manual gearbox followed by six speed dual clutch automatic transmission system is also expected to taken from EcoSport.
After launch Aspire is expected to compete with Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze whereas generation next Figo will compete against Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
