Ford to recall 1.66 units of Figo and Classic Sedan to remove their defects

Ford India, the Indian division of American car manufacturing company Ford is reported to recall 1,66, 021 units of Ford Figo and Ford Classic in hatchback and sedan segment to solve the issues arising due to rear suspension and power steering system. It is for the second time within the span of three months that Ford had recalled any of its models to rectify any issue associated with them. Prior to this on July 11, 2013 Ford had recalled EcoSport to deal with an issue arising from Glow Plug control console.

It is reported that Ford will be working on removing the defects arising in rear axle of 1,31,922 units which might result in improper driving and handling of car. Apart from this ford will also replace power steering of 3418 units of Ford Classic and 30,681 units of Ford Figo. According to sources these defects will be removed from those units which manufactured during January 2010 to June 2012.

According to sources, Ford India is to continue its ongoing voluntary field service action (FSA) so as to recall the existing units of Ford Figo and Ford Classic sedan to check them intensively and go through the issues associated with rear twist beam and power steering hose. By this recall Ford India wants to assure its potential customers that company is serious about their safety and meeting their expectations. Company officials reported that Ford is asking its dealers to continue this service that any issue associated with these problem seriously.  Company’s official sources have claimed that company has not received any news of injury or an accident arising due to these issues so far. However sources also claimed that company is also in contact with customers of Figo and Classic facing such problem.
