Generation Next Mahindra Thar Might Get Petrol Engine

It is reported that domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that it will soon launch the generation next Thar soon in Indian car market. The news regarding was also confirmed by the Managing Director of company Mr. Pawan Goenka stating that company has started working on developing next generation of Thar. The first generation of Mahindra Thar was launched back in 2010 and with its launch it succeeded in winning the hearts of off-road motorists. Going through the encouraging response from buyers it under-went the mid-life alteration comprising of new interior and few more.

Talking about the changes that would be offered in new Thar, Mr. Goenka said that it will be identical to ongoing Thar and will be designed by International designer Pininfarina and Ssangyong. Moving ahead Mr. Goenka also added that apart from both these groups, company will also send its proposal for designing Thar in front of its board members.

Mechanically it will sport the existing 2498cc, turborcharged CRDe diesel engine that generates the power of 105 bhp and torque of 247Nm and mated with five speed manual gearbox system. Along with this it is also rumored that company might also offer 1.5 litre petrol engine for International markets. Other features that would be offered in generation next Thar will include memory seats, wireless mobile charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay Connectivity followed by integration of few smart features that would be offered in upcoming vehicles from company in future.
