The Industry has high expectations from both the City and the Tour as both these cars have been top performers for their respective brands. However the month of March has been a little lukewarm for Honda City as it witnessed a slowdown in sales. Probably it is due to the absence of a diesel model. On the other hand the big boot sedan Maruti Swift Dzire, that has now its compact version available as new Maruti Swift Dzire has been relaunched by Maruti India with little features and in only entry-level features exclusively meant for the Taxi and fleet operators. The Maruti Swift Dzire Tour price starts at Rs 4.88 lakh for the Dzire Tour LXi petrol version and it is Rs 5.91 lakh for the Swift Dzire Tour LDi diesel. There will be only these two models available.

On the other hand, Honda City will be re-launching the City sedan with a new price tag and hopefully will be giving in few gizmos with it. Currently it starts at Rs 7.1 lakh and it is expected to have a price rise of Rs 10,000. People in the car industry believe that rather than increasing the price of the City, Honda must have introduced a diesel model of the sedan. Experts have also said that the proposed hike in price of City sedan will have negative impact on the sales and will further weaken its stand against its rivals such as Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta and Toyota Etios.
