Honda City Hybrid on the Cards of HCIL for 2017
The generation next Honda City sedan by Japanese car maker Honda Motors back in 2013 was a massive hit in Indian car market. Now, according to recent industry the car maker is working on bringing the facelift version of this luxurious sedan during the first quarter of next year. If reports are true than along with existing 1.5 litre petrol and diesel variant, the car maker is also planning to introduce the hybrid version of Honda City in 2017. The hybrid Honda City is already being sold in domestic car market by parent car maker with the badge of Grace.
The Hybrid Honda City aka Grace is empowered with 1.5 litre DOHC i-VTEC four cylinder petrol engine boosting the power of 108 bhp followed by 28 bhp power generated by electronic motor that gains power built-in lithium-ion battery. The transmission duty is performed by seven speed dual clutch transmission system and delivers an average of 34.8 kmpl.

On exterior the proposed facelift Honda City is speculated to outsource its design from sedan Honda Greiz being sold in Chinese car market. At present the facelift City has been named as 2GC and is anticipated to embellish dark color option followed by existing thick horizontal slat front grille with newly developed headlamps integrated over it. The rear bumper is also speculated to carry a new look along with C-shaped tail lamps.
Inside, the cabin it will bestow features like newly designed touchscreen, audio and hands free telephone controls, electronic sunroof and sat-nav system, automatic climate controls and paddle shift. The safety features will comprise of rear parking sensors, ABS+EBD, child safety lcock, anti-theft alarm and front and side impact beams.

With fuel efficiency result of 34.8 kmpl it is assumed that 2017 Honda City will definitely create lines of tension on the head of its strong contender Ciaz from Maruti Suzuki India Limited. It is expected to be however Rs. 2 lakh costlier than existing version of Honda City.
