Honda City Petrol With BS-VI Compliant Engine Ready For Launch

Japanese car maker Honda Motors is all set to launch the BS-VI compliant engine in the petrol version. According to rumors exploring in the cyber world a document issued by the Delhi RTO approves the new BS-VI compliant engine configured by the Honda Motors in the generation City sedan. The new version will be empowered with BS-VI compliant 1.5 litre petrol engine that churns the power of 119 hp which is same as generated by BS-IV compliant, 1.5 litre, water cooled, SOHC, i-VTEC, 4 cylinder petrol engine. After launch in the Indian car market the new Honda City will go against the likes of its existing contenders, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Rapid.

The document showing the approval by the RTO Delhi reveals that under the hood, the petrol variant will be offered in four trims namely City 1.5 SV MT, City 1.5 V MT, City 1.5 VX MT and City 1.5 ZX MT. The transmission duties will be performed by five speed manual and five speed CVT transmission system, in the petrol variant.  As far as diesel variant is concerned, it will be continued with existing BS-IV, 1.5 litre, water-cooled DOHC, i-DTEC, 4 cylinder diesel engine that generates the power of 100 PS and the torque of 200Nm. It will be mated with the six speed manual transmission system. As far as BS-VI compliant in the diesel engine is concerned, there is no information available about it.

The next generation of Honda City will be globally unveiled next month in Thailand and will go for sale from the month of January next year. Dimensionally, the new Honda City will be bigger, spacious and packed with extra features, than compared to its existing model.
