Honda City Snatches Its Top Position In Mid-Sized Segment
The mid-sized sedan Honda City from the Japanese car maker Honda has snatched its top position again by beating its tough rivals Ciaz from Indo Japanese car makers Maruti-Suzuki and Verna from Korean car maker Hyundai Motors. During the year 2017 Honda Motors managed to sale 62, 573 units of city across the country while 62,000 units of Ciaz were sold by MSIL, whereas the Verna from Hyundai could not even stood close to Honda City by selling out just 30,000 units. Well, the reason behind this huge gap was debut of generation next Verna in the second half of the year.

In the words of Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, President and CEO, Honda Cars India limited the year 2017 was a milestone year for the company with its best selling sedan City completing two decades of its successful existence in the Indian car market. Moving ahead he also added, "Honda City has emerged as the highest selling mid-size sedan during 2017. I would like to thank our customers for their strong support to the model.HCIL experienced robust growth during 2017 backed by good demand for all our products across segments, especially the Honda City & WR-V. We look forward to another fruitful year ahead,"
According to sales statistics revealed by the Indian alliance of the Japanese car maker the Honda Cars India Limited recorded the growth of 26% in the sales till the end of December 2017 by selling out 12,642 units of Honda cars across the country as against 10,071 units of the cars sold last year till the same period. For the Financial Year 2017-18 company recorded the cumulative growth of 20% bye selling 129,964 units of car from April to December 2017.
