Honda Jazz Hybrid launched in Malaysia, Jazz EV in California

Honda has given some of the cleanest and the most fuel efficient engines to the world. In India as well Honda cars are known to be highly dependable cars due to their engines and robust body structure. As per Honda’s initiative to make the engine greener, it has introduced Honda Jazz Hybrid in Malaysia and has launched the Jazz EV in California. The addition of the green Jazz is significant in the light of Honda’s commitment to make this world fuel efficient and thus it constantly endeavors to make its cars more and more attractive look wise and feature wise.

However, Honda has been too partial in India and it has only launched petrol cars. This has resulted in downsized sales recently and thus the car maker is said to have been in the process of bring in the diesel avatars of its cars starting from Honda Brio to Honda City. Honda Jazz could also get a diesel heart. Honda diesel car launch is expected to be not too far away and sometime near Diwali is what the industry experts believe. But Honda is still tight lipped over the issue. It is not less than a surprise how despite sensing meek sales of its petrol cars, Honda is not hurrying up diesel Honda car launches.

The Jazz Hybrid launched in Malaysia has 1.3 l iVTEC Honda engine and an electric motor that has a capacity of 14 hp. The Jazz Hybrid has a mileage of 21.3 kmpl. The Jazz EV on the other hand has 92kW synchronous electric motor powered by 20kWh lithium ion battery that takes the Jazz EV to 130 km in a single charge. The recharging time of Jazz EV is 3 hours.

India was a heaven for petrol cars some two years ago but the present petrol prices have forced India to look for diesel offering that are nowadays hassle free and low maintenance cars due to improved technology. And it is sure that if Honda will be bringing in Honda Brio Diesel or Honda City Diesel, it will be as dependable as the petrol models are.
