Honda Jazz SUV coming soon

Renault Duster is in today and India eagerly awaits other SUVs – Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha that are scheduled to be launched sometime this year end or early next year. Now there is a buzz related to the Japanese car maker Honda and it suggests that Honda Jazz hatchback could take a mini SUV avatar soon. Though the Honda Jazz SUV has been always a possibility following its more than hatchback proportions but nothing concrete on the issue has been revealed from Honda. Now that the SUV segment is hot with Duster launching today and other two SUVs lined up soon, it seems that even every car maker in India at least is thinking of pitching in SUV in order to get the advantage of the low competition level currently in the highly prospective compact SUV market in India.

However, the Honda Jazz based SUV will be competing with the likes of BMW Mini Countryman and Nissan Juke (not in India) apart from other segment players. It is believed that Honda will have to do little engineering in order to build a mini SUV based on Jazz as the car already has the proportions right that of small size sports utility car and it would be easier for it to adopt the new body styling. Details regarding the Jazz based SUV are awaited and all that is known is that it will be coming soon.

Meanwhile, as far as Indian market is concerned, Honda could be thinking of pitching in the diesel models of its cars rather than launching new cars in India. In the current scenario Honda is continuing with only petrol models and when petrol prices are very high compared to diesel, there is a large sway towards the diesel cars in India. Already sensing this trend, the Japanese car maker will be launching Honda Brio Diesel, Honda City Diesel and a lot of other diesel Honda car models in India soon to get in real competition with other car makers.
