Honda Starts Receiving The Bookings For BS-VI Compliant City
Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), the Indian alliance of Japanese car maker Honda Motors is all set to launch the BS-VI compliant version of its best selling sedan City in the Indian car market. According to reports the Honda dealers across the country have started receiving the bookings of the upcoming version of Honda City, which would be the first vehicle in the portfolio of the car maker to receive the BS-VI compliant engine.
Grapevine is that the Japanese car maker is all set to launch the petrol version BS-VI compliant Honda City soon during the coming weeks in the Indian car market and commence the delivery from the early weeks of December. It would be interesting to know the company has also received the approval certificate from the Delhi RTO for BS-VI 1.5 litre petrol Honda City. The new BS 6 petrol variant will be empowered with 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns the power of 118 bhp and the torque of 145Nm. The transmission duties will be performed by six speed manual gearbox that will transmit the power to the front wheels. As far as integration of CVT transmission system is concerned nothing has been so far confirmed by the maker.

It is believed that the new Honda City will cost Rs. 35,000 – Rs. 40,000 higher than its existing versions. It will be available in four trims namely SV,V,VX and ZX. Along with this, it will be equipped with the features like dual airbags, speed alert, ISOFIX child seat anchors, parking sensors, seat belt reminder, and ABS+EBD as the standard features. The list of additional features that would be offered in the other variants include Bluetooth compatible audio and cruise control system, 15 inch alloy wheels, automatic AC and LED DRLs. The V trim will be equipped with seven inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with smartphone and a rear view camera.
The top end variant VX will be equipped with the features like telescopic steering wheel, sunroof, large 16 inch alloy wheels. On the safety front it will be equipped with LED headlamps, leather seats, automatic headlights, side and curtain airbags, and automatic headlights and wipers. Besides, it will also be embellished with all those features that are offered in the other trims.
