Honda to launch diesel cars in India
It seems that the rising petrol prices and with consumer getting magnetized by the diesel run cars most of the auto majors are considering a switch and latest entrant is Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI).
The Japanese auto giant; who was till now interested in manufacturing petrol variants of its cars, has announced in future it may offer diesel powered cars as well. A senior representative of the company said that, even if the firm is developing diesel run engines in its Japan based production plants there is a least possibility of launching a diesel car for India in coming years.

According to HSCI’s Senior VP- Marketing and Sales, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, back in Japan the diesel engines are going through its initial phase of testing by the Research and Development experts. But refused to provide any particular date on which the diesel product will be rolled out in India.
Mr. Sen was present in Kerala at the launch ceremony of Honda’s new hatchback compact car Brio, which received a satisfactory feedback after its launch.

Earlier this small vehicle has registered a record sale of 5,000 cars within 3 weeks of launch in the nation. The sales figures can be rated huge sighting that car is available only in petrol variant. Besides this, Honda has announced some days back that it will ramp up the production of its hatchback Honda Jazz to 1000 vehicles per month from November month onwards.
These compliments are coming Honda’s way at the time when most of the consumers are racing towards the diesel variants. Honda has no vehicle with diesel as fuel choice in its lineup.

Dear Madhu, the company is all set to bring diesel motors in its Indian cars in a couple of years. As of now, the diesel engines are being test under R&D wing of the parent company. Thanks
