Hyundai Exter Bookings Cross The Mark Of 75,000

Hyundai Motor India Limited, the Indian alliance of the Korean carmaker Hyundai Motors is running high with the success enjoyed by its recent launch of the Exter compact SUV. According to reports, the compact SUV has received more than 75,000 bookings so far after its launch. At the time of its launch, it was told that the company would focus on manufacturing 6,000 units of Exter per month. But going through the increasing demand, the company has decided to revise its production strategy and take it to 8,000 units per month. It is also reported that to meet the demand in the Indian car market, the company has decided to reduce the volume of units it is going to export.

Commenting on this, Tarun Garge, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the HMIL, said, “Exter has attracted a new breed of buyers at the entry-level, thanks to its high aspirational appeal and standout features like a sunroof and standard six airbags”. In the words of Garg, 75% of Exter buyers opted for the sunroof variant.

Garg believes that the charm for Exter will continue at the same pace in the coming years. The launch of Exter has already changed the scenario of the SUV market in India. At present, it is the second best-selling entry-level SUV in the country after Tata Punch. With the arrival of the festive season, it is believed that there will be a surge in demand for Exter in the country.
