Hyundai i40 displayed at Barcelona Motor Show
Hyundai Motor, Korean auto maker is in top gear with its value for money cars in India. This well known auto manufacturer includes hatchback and sedan series cars in its Indian stable but now the auto giant is going to do something new with launching of its new sedan Hyundai i40.
Presently the company is getting buzz response from its most popular 'i' series model like hatch Hyundai i10 and big hatch Hyundai i20. Both cars are not only performing good in Indian car market but also have a good market share in Europe. It is to be learnt that Hyundai i20 reporting good sales in these foreign countries, specially in Europe.
Now the company is ready to enlarge its most popular 'i' model and entered in sedan segment with displaying of Hyundai i40 at Bacelona Motor Show 2011. As per displayed features and specs this new sedan will be available in both the petrol and diesel engine models. The Petrol engine variant of the car is packed with a powerful 177HP 2.0-liter powerplant while the diesel Hyundai i40 has been loaded with a 136HP 1.7-liter diesel engine.
This latest feature and innovative technology loaded car is major competitor of D-segment cars which are running on European roads. Most of this sedan will be an answer to Citroen C5 and the Volkswagen Passat. While appearance of the sleek baby seems similar as Elantra sold in North America and other parts of the world.
First of all the well designed D-segment Hyundai i40 will be available in European and American market. It is expected that this new sedan will also be launched in Indian market after that or in the starting of next year.
The petrol Hyundai i40 comes packed with a new Euro-IV Emission, four-cylinder, 2.0-liter mill with direct injection, called 'Nu'. This power machine of the car delivers top power of 177 HP and peak torque of 213 Nm. Both the model of the car have been equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile the diesel engine variant of the Hyundai i40 has a fuel-efficient 1.7-liter powerplant that ensure to generate peak power of 115HP.
Feature and specs which will be available in the sedan are a smart-parking censer, lane departure warning systems and Bluetooth with voice recognition, navigation system, rear view camera, ventilated and heated front seats, heated steering wheel, electric parking brake and an auto-defog system. All these innovative features will ensure to provide great riding experience to the rider.
As per reliable sources that Hyundai i40 will go on sale across Europe by the end of this year. And the company will offer five years of unlimited warranty and roadside assistance as well as vehicle health checks. The overwhelmed Hyundai seeks to sale 60,000 units of this new car within one year and expecting to achieve 3 percent market share in Europe by the end of this year.
