Hyundai Santro 2018 Listed In The Urban Car Of The World Category
Korean auto giant Hyundai Motors launched the third generation of its one time best selling hatchback Santro, again in the Indian car market, last year during the month of October 2018, after the gap of almost five years. In its third generation, the new Hyundai Santro succeeded in receiving the same overwhelming response as was received from its predecessors. But, now it seems that the third generation of Santro is going to add a new feather in its dynasty by being honored with the title of 2019 World Urban Car Of the Year Award. According to the recent reports, the new Hyundai Santro has been nominated in the above-mentioned category and becomes the first Indian car to be nominated in the contest of Car of the World.
Under the hood, the 2018 Hyundai Santro is empowered with 1.1 litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine that is capable of boosting the power of 68 bhp and the torque of 99Nm. The transmission duties are performed by five-speed manual gear transmission system, followed by an option of five-speed AMT system. With the starting price of Rs. 3.89 lakh (ex-showroom price) for the base variant, the new Santro is equipped with a bunch of features like seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, all power windows, steering mounted audio controls, rear washer with wiper, day and night IRVM and many more. The list of safety features includes ABS+EBD as a standard safety feature on all the trims, passenger side airbag, rear parking camera and sensors on the top trim.
