India Bound 2020 Honda City Unveiled In Thailand
Japanese carmaker Honda Motors unveiled the 2020 City during an event in Thailand. The new generation of the City will be available in 4 trims namely S, V, SV, and RS. The base S variant has been offered with the price tag of 579,500 baht, while the top-end variant RS is priced 739,000 baht.

Underhood, the Thailand version of City is offered with two engine options of 1.0L, 3-cylinder iVTEC turbocharged engine that generates the power of 122 bhp and the torque of 173Nm. The other engine option includes a 1.5-liter petrol engine. In India, the Japanese carmaker will offer the same 1.5-liter petrol engine followed by the 1.5-liter diesel engine. Both the engine options in India are expected to be strictly according to BS-VI norms. Along with this, it will be also offered with the option of the petrol-hybrid engine, which would be mated with a 1.5-liter petrol engine and based on the company’s i-MMD mild-hybrid technology. It is said, that the hybrid version will be more fuel-efficient and deliver 33% improved fuel-efficient performance.
On the exterior fronts, the front fascia of the new City flaunts new front grille with large and broader dimensions, new fog lamps, and revised wraparound LED headlamps with DRLS. On the rear front, it receives C-shaped LED taillamps followed by reflectors mounted vertically on the rear bumper. The side profile receives multi-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels with 185/60 R15 tires.

Speaking about the interior, they seem to be inspired by generation next Jazz hatchback and embellishes the features like a new multi-functional steering wheel with control of various systems mounted on it, new dashboard layout, digital instrumental console, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Where the Thailand spec receives the complete black interior, the India bound version is believed to receive the dual-tone color treatment of black and beige combination.
