India Bound Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 To Launch This Year

It was almost three years back in 2016 when the US-based carmaker Ford Launched its state of the art performing car Mustang in the Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 65 lakh (ex-showroom price). Now the company is all set to launch the advanced version of this muscular car Shelby GT500 in the Indian car market by the end of this year. It is reported that the company has stepped into a joint venture with a Pune based technical group AJP that will assemble the parts at its performance studio. As far as the features and details associated with Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 are concerned nothing has been so far revealed by the company, but, still it is speculated that it will be one of the most expensive vehicles in the country that will be offered with the price tag of Rs. 2 crore.

Mechanically, the Shelby GT500 will be empowered with 5.2 litre V8 engine that will be mated with seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and generates the power of 700 bhp. It would be interesting to know that with it will be the only car in Mustang family that would be embellished with advanced aerodynamic design and instant accelerating feature. According to the sources of Ford Motors, it has tested the car above 500 3D cooling and aerodynamic designs to enjoy the feature of quick acceleration. The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will compete against Chevy Camaro ZL1 and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in the International car market.

In the words of  Manas Dewan, who is the new CEO of the Ford group "The Shelby racing cars are built on the Ford platform but souped-up and modified for performance. AJP Group is a technical partner of Shelby India. We will assemble the cars in India and carry out necessary modifications and upgrades. Shelby India will look after the marketing and distribution of these cars. Ford will support Shelby India’s customers with warranty backup just as it does worldwide."
