Jeep Grand Cherokee launch in Indonesia prior to India
This is sheer injustice that Fiat will be launching the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV in Indonesia first and then at a later stage it will be launched in India. As per the almost official information through sources, the Italian car maker Fiat will be covering an Indonesian launch prior to an India launch of the latest version of Grand Cherokee. The reason why this is decided is due to the proximity as well as the greater scope of the car in the market that is driven by MPVs, MUVs, and SUVs. The Jeep Grand Cherokee price is expected to be between Rs 65 lakh to Rs 85 lakh and it is all expected to be launched in India in the coming months.

Notably, the Jeep and Chrysler brands are the ones that the car maker wishes to bring in India and whatever the route it follows to enter India, it is almost certain that these two brands will be stepping up the prospects of the almost dying brand in the country. Meanwhile, Fiat has also decided to remain with Fiat Punto and Fiat Linea cars in India and not to launch any new models for the time being. Instead of launching new models, the car maker will be launching the Abarth and other versions of these cars thereby making these cars a value buy in the segment these cater to.
Furthermore, the new Jeep car that is hoped to enter India after its first Asian debut in Indonesia will be launched sometime during this year. In Indonesia, the car will have two petrol engine options viz. 3.6 L 290 hp and 6.4 L 470 hp. Thus Fiat has all set the car to cater to the segment wherein it is power, performance and looks matter rather than price or mileage.
