JLR and Chery to open manufacturing unit in China

The Jaguar Land Rover and its partner Chery are coming up a manufacturing plant in China that would churn out jaguars and more Land rovers to satisfy its Chinese consumers. This one would be first plant in the country and if we see the figure, about 1.75 billion has been invested for it. For building up the plant, both the car makers just got an official permission from Chinese Government. This plant will be built under 50-50 alliance between the firms that would produce lavish limousines and many off-roaders.

Now, Chery and JLR are planning to take its alliance forward with the new plant that would be built in Changshu located near the east Shanghai. The plant will have an engine production unit and a R&D centre equipped with many latest technologies. The amalgamation of a Chinese and a British car maker would certainly be a stunning combination and the major advantage of this joint venture coming to China would be the creation of jobs, new technology, investment and more. The marketing and distribution of the new JLR and Chery cars will also come under this alliance.

Both the companies are excited for this new project and are hoping to do well in China as well. Chery Automobiles is thankful to the Chinese government for giving a green signal to the plant and seeing the potential that this alliance possesses.

Everybody knows that China is world’s biggest car markets surpassing USA in the year 2009. In this car market, about 185 million vehicles sold in 2011 and it is expected to hit the 30 million point by the year 2020. It’s as exciting as it sound! We hope that the Chery Automobiles JV and JLR collaboration will taste successful in China.
