Lamborghini Urus might take shape in near future

At the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, Lamborghini showcased its SUV, called Lamborghini Urus, which took the entire show by storm. Lamborghini being the sports car maker trying its hand in SUV segment is totally exciting. However, till now there is no official word from the company about the production of this SUV, but rumors in the market suggest that the car will hit the manufacturing unit in 2017.

Lamborghini has quite high expectations from Urus and hope to intensify the yearly sale by 100% once Lamborghini Urus is launched. The firm is expecting to sell approximately 3000 units of this SUV across the world. The one reason that caught Lamborghini’s eyes on SUV segment is that it wishes to make use of the new SUV platform that has been developed by Volkswagen. To make its SUV lighter, the firm will use carbon fibre architecture throughout the car. The company is will to keep the weight of the SUV under 2000kg that would make it one of the lightest lavish SUVs available in the market today.

As far as the engine in new Lamborghini is concerned, the SUV will be blessed with 4.0 litre V8 turbocharged engine that is also seen in Bentley and Audi cars. The firm aims to export this SUV to Russia, Middle East, USA, China and Europe. Apart from Lamborghini, luxury car brands such as Maserati and Bentley is also planning to launch their respective SUVs very soon. Seeing the growing demand for SUVs across the globe, car makers are drifting towards the production of SUVs and are trying their very best to lure consumers towards them.
