Mahindra Quanto launch on 20th September 2012: Mahindra

Top notch Utility Vehicle (UV) maker Mahindra & Mahindra has just now uncovered the most happening buzz of automobile industry. And that is, when will the compact SUV Mahindra Quanto launch in India? A senior Mahindra spokesperson responds: “20th September 2012”. With this news, the nightmares for competitors like Maruti Ertiga, Premier Rio and Renault Duster has started to upsurge in the compact segment. The most compact vehicle till date from SUV-maker expects high sales outburst soon after its launch. Besides volume seller Mahindra Quanto, company will present premium SUV Mahindra Rexton just before the approaching festive season i.e. Diwali 2012.

According to Mr. Pawan Goenka-President of Automotive and Farm Equipment sector, the company initially expects high demand of the compact SUV Mahindra Quanto, but want to become stable at 1,500-2,000 units per month subsequently. The company turned down the request for exact engine specifications. However there are strong rumors of 1.5L MHAWK diesel engine making way into the hood. This performance focused engine is expected to outpour an estimated power of 100bhp along with meaty torque of 190Nm. Furthermore, Mahindra Quanto price is projected to fall around INR 5-7 lakh and will be available in 4 variants namely E4, E6, E8 and E9.

Additionally, Mahindra Rexton that will be the first Ssangyong vehicle to debut in India will compete with premium rivals such as Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Chevrolet Captiva. The potent SUV with elegance all over was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo. It will be motorized by a 2.0L diesel engine; which will smoke out 154 bhp and 360 Nm of power and torque respectively.
