Mahindra Quanto spied, launch on Thursday

Mahindra Quanto which is about to make a debut in the already scintillating compact SUV segment and it is just before it that the new Mahindra car has been spied in a launch ready state. The Qunato is the new compact avatar that the industry is expecting for long and it is expected that this will surpass sales of even Renault Duster or the upcoming Ford Ecosport. It will be though a close rival of Maruti XA Alpha and could have close tie in terms of sales. The Quanto launch is on September 20 and the Quanto price in India is expected to land somewhere between Rs 4.75 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The price is highly attractive and it is believed that the new Mahindra car will have too many takers. With both MPV and SUV traits the MUV could also dampen Maruti Ertiga sales.

The Quanto that was spied recently was the Demo car and it seems that Mahindra has already planned everything for it and thus the demo cars will be delivered to the dealers as soon as the car is launched after two days. The model that was spotted is said to be the top model of the car as it has all the fully loaded features such as body colored door handles, alloy wheels body colored outside rear view mirrors and a lot of features inside. The car is expected to make its presence felt in two segments – MPV and SUV. Since India commonly confuses SUVs to be MPVs and most of the SUVs are used as people movers rather than off-roading, this car too will be more like to create a sensation in the multi utility vehicle segment and will also be taking a huge chunk of sales from the compact SUV segment.

Powered by 1.5 L three pot mCRDi engine, with a power output capacity of 100 bhp and a peak torque capability of 240 Nm, the Quanto will be able to have high mileage. Though it will not match the over 19 kmpl mileage of Duster but it will be able to return 17.3 kmpl in any condition.
